VENUE University of Helsinki The Meeting will take place at the University of Helsinki (http://www.helsinki.fi/university/) which was established in Turku in 1640 and moved to Helsinki in 1828. The University of Helsinki is the largest university in Finland with the widest range of disciplines. Its 11 faculties are located on four campuses in the City of Helsinki and 18 other locations in Finland. The University belongs to the European League of Research Universities (LERU), an association of the best research-intensive universities of Europe. The bilingual (Finnish and Swedish) university employs a 7,700-person staff of which one half operates in research and education, one fifth in administration, and one third in other tasks. The number of degree students is 39,000, while other 51,000 students take continuing education and Open University studies.
